Jimmy Lewis’s journey into a life of public service began with his distinguished career in the United States Army from 1977 to 1981. As a Military First Responder, Firefighter, and EMT, Jimmy was deployed to various military bases around the world, where he dedicated himself to safeguarding the lives and well-being of military personnel and their families. It was during these formative years that Jimmy honed his skills in discipline, resilience, and quick decision-making—qualities that would later become the backbone of his career in law enforcement and beyond. His unwavering commitment to public service, instilled during his military tenure, became a guiding principle in every role he undertook.
In 1980, Karl Griffin embarked on a career with the San Francisco Housing Authority (SFHA) Police Department, a move that marked the beginning of a partnership that would span decades. After Jimmy’s honorable discharge from the military in 1981, he joined Karl at the SFHA Police Department, where they quickly became known as a dynamic duo on patrol. Together, they enforced laws and policies within SFHA properties across San Francisco, ensuring the safety and integrity of these communities. Their deep understanding of federal Fair Housing laws, HUD regulations, and SFHA policies, particularly regarding Section 8 housing, made them invaluable assets in conducting thorough background investigations and tackling violations that compromised the integrity of federally mandated rent subsidies.
Their expertise wasn’t confined to SFHA properties alone. Karl and Jimmy extended their roles to collaborate with the San Francisco Police Department on more complex cases, involving violations that required additional jurisdictional oversight. Their transition into the San Francisco Police Department was a natural progression, where they continued to excel in law enforcement, protecting the public, and upholding justice in one of the country’s most vibrant cities.
As Karl Griffin’s career flourished, he sought to broaden his horizons, obtaining his Private Investigator’s license in 1996 from the California Bureau of Investigative Services. Since then, he has maintained this license in good standing, continuously honing his skills and expanding his repertoire. As a seasoned Private Investigator, Karl brings a wealth of expertise to the table, specializing in surveillance, research, interviews, evidence collection, and meticulous legal compliance. His work is characterized by an unwavering commitment to integrity and precision, ensuring that every investigation he undertakes is thorough and credible.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Lewis continued to make his mark in law enforcement, dedicating 33 years of service to the San Francisco Police Department before retiring with honor. However, retirement didn’t slow Jimmy down. Driven by a passion for technology and innovation, he established James Lewis Specialized Videographer, a venture dedicated to providing premium video surveillance solutions primarily for law enforcement agencies and private investigators. Over the course of more than three decades, Jimmy has mastered the art of physical surveillance, mobile tracking, covert installations, remote video monitoring, and GPS surveillance tracking. Karl, serving as Lead Investigator, and Jimmy, as Investigative Consultant, are now focused on investigating HOA crimes—cases that law enforcement may not have the resources to fully explore due to their civil nature.
